Many of us have felt the sting of being overlooked or dismissed because of our differences. As someone with a speech impediment, I know the anxiety that can arise when speaking in public or even introducing myself. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder if God can truly use me to make an impact. Moses, too, doubted his ability to speak when God called him to lead. His protests sound familiar: “What if I’m not enough?” But God reminded Moses—and reminds us—that He equips those He calls. He promised to be Moses’ mouth and teach him what to say.
Disability inclusion is a reflection of God’s heart. He sees value in all of us, not despite our differences, but through them. When we create spaces where every voice is heard, we embody Christ’s love and recognize the beauty in diversity.
Together, we can shift perspectives, breaking down barriers of bias and ableism. Our voices—whether smooth or stuttered—are powerful tools for God’s work.
