Alfred Street Baptist Church (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the SEEK mobile application (the “App”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our iOS and Android mobile application. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully.
By using the SEEK App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information that you provide directly to us, information automatically collected when you use the App, and information from third-party services.
1.1 Personal Information You Provide
When you register for and use the SEEK App, we collect:
- Account Information: Email address, name, password (encrypted), and profile information
- Authentication Data: When you use Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and unique identifier from these services
- Fast Participation Data: Your selected fast type, what you choose to fast from, and registration details
- Journal Entries: Any personal reflections, notes, or content you create in the journaling feature
- Profile Photos: Images you choose to upload from your photo library or capture with your camera for your profile
- Communication Preferences: Push notification settings and preferences
1.2 Information Automatically Collected
When you use the SEEK App, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information
- Usage Data: App features you access, time spent in the App, interaction with devotionals and resources, frequency of use
- Log Data: IP address, app version, access times, pages viewed, and actions taken within the App
- Crash and Performance Data: Technical information about app crashes, errors, and performance metrics through Sentry
1.3 Information from Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect information:
- Supabase: Handles authentication and secure data storage
- PostHog: Collects analytics data to help us understand how users interact with the App
- Sentry: Collects crash reports and error logs to improve app stability
- Apple Sign-In: Provides authentication services (Apple may provide a private relay email address)
- Google Sign-In: Provides authentication services
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and Maintain the App: Create and manage your account, enable participation in the annual communal spiritual fast, and deliver daily devotionals and resources
- Personalize Your Experience: Customize content based on your fast preferences and track your spiritual journey
- Send Communications: Deliver push notifications about daily devotionals, prayer sessions, and fast-related updates (you can opt out in your device settings)
- Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, enhance features, and optimize app performance
- Ensure Security: Protect against unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse
- Comply with Legal Obligations: Respond to legal requests and prevent harm
We do NOT use your information for:
- Advertising or marketing from third parties
- Selling or renting to third parties
- Profiling or automated decision-making
3. MOBILE PERMISSIONS
The SEEK App requests the following permissions:
- Camera: To allow you to take photos for your profile picture
- Photo Library: To allow you to select existing photos for your profile picture
- Push Notifications: To send you daily devotionals, prayer reminders, and fast-related updates
You can modify these permissions at any time in your device settings. Denying certain permissions may limit app functionality.
Note: The App does NOT access your location, contacts, microphone, or calendar.
4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information with:
4.1 Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the App:
- Supabase: Secure authentication and database hosting
- PostHog: Analytics and usage insights
- Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting
- Apple and Google: Authentication services
These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to:
- Valid legal processes (subpoenas, court orders)
- Requests from law enforcement or government agencies
- Protection of our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public
- Emergency situations involving potential threats to personal safety
4.3 Business Transfers

- Account Data: Retained for 10-12 months to support the annual fast cycle. After this period, inactive accounts and associated data may be deleted.
- Journal Entries: Retained as long as your account is active or until you delete them
- Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes
- Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days or until the issue is resolved
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
7.1 Access and Update
You can access and update your account information at any time through the App’s profile settings.
7.2 Delete Your Account
You can delete your account and associated data at any time by:
- Opening the SEEK App
- Navigating to the “Edit Profile” screen
- Selecting the option to delete your account
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your journal entries, fast preferences, and personal data will be deleted.
7.3 Push Notifications
You can opt out of push notifications by adjusting your device settings or within the App’s notification preferences.
7.4 Data Portability
Currently, the App does not support exporting your data. If you would like a copy of your information, please contact us at [insert contact email].
8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The SEEK App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 9. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
