ABOUT SEEK

We are so glad you decided to join us for SEEK 2026! This is a time for us to come together as a community and SEEK the face of God through prayer, devotion and fasting. Remember, the objective of fasting is not only to eliminate things from our daily routine, but to also replace them with prayer. This year, we are fasting for 30 days from Monday, January 12th – Wednesday, February 11th.

In an effort to make fasting accessible to all, we’ve made a few changes. First, there’s a SEEK app! Available on iOS and Android, this app is designed to be your companion on your SEEK journey. Upon registration, you’ll be prompted to select not only what you would like to abstain from, but your level of intensity. After setup, each week you’ll be able to see what items are included in your fast, any action items you should take and record journal reflections. You can also access the daily prayer call, prayer call recordings, devotional content and resources. Prefer not to download the app? No worries! Registering for SEEK gives you access to the same tools on our web based platform.


CHOOSE YOUR PLAN

Participants in SEEK will now have the option to follow a traditional SEEK preset protocol or create a custom plan. We are still focusing on three main areas: Food, Finances and Focus (previously Social Media/Entertainment). In a custom program, we’ve provided a list of items participants can restrict in each category, giving you the flexibility to design a progressive program that changes in intensity each week or stays steady over the duration. No matter what protocol you choose, you have the option to concentrate on any area you’d like!

STANDARD SEEK PROGRESSIVE FAST

If you’d like to follow the traditional program, here is the full progressive fast.

Week One: No coffee/caffeine, No sugar/sugar substitutes, No alcohol
Week Two: No Dairy, No red meat, No fried foods 
Week Three: Daniel Fast (Whole Grains, Fruit, Nuts, Beans and Legumes, Vegetables, Fruit Juice and Water)
Week Four: 7am-7pm Liquid fast, Daniel Fast in the evenings

** If you are unable to intensify each week, maintain a safe and appropriate fasting level in consultation with your medical provider. Please check with your medical provider before committing to the Food Fast, as some underlying health conditions may preclude participation.

Week One: No food deliveries. Review/obtain your credit score and credit report (Credit Karma, annualcreditreport.com).
Week Two: No eating out. No credit card purchases. Create a budget. 
Week Three: No shopping, online or in person. Only purchases of necessity i.e. groceries, medication, household items
Week Four: Commit to Tithing. Create a plan to eliminate unnecessary debt.

Week One: Limit Gaming and Social Media to 2 hours a day total
Week Two: No Gaming or Social Media
Week Three:  No Digital Entertainment. Limit non-essential communication to 2 hours a day.
Week Four: No distractions – An entire week of silence. No Non-Essential Texting or Phone calls outside of business. This week is purely devoted to hearing the voice of God speak in the silence

**This fast acknowledges that Social Media is a means for news and information. Those participating are asked to significantly reduce entertainment social media, commenting, and scrolling.

To create a custom SEEK journey, choose items to abstain from/practices to implement in the following categories. In the SEEK app, you can allocate what items you’d like to give up in what week of your SEEK journey:

CHOOSE YOUR PATH

We recognize everyone’s experience with fasting will differ, but believe as long as your heart is set on feeding your spirit and gaining a closer walk with God, all roads lead to Him! 

This year, we’d like you to choose from three different paths with varying levels of intensity:

Committed to the journey; pacing and looking to build – light/medium intensity.

Are you new to the practice of fasting or a little intimidated by the idea of a strict, 30 day protocol? Then you might be a Walker! At this level, participants will practice 3 days a week and make the following commitments:

  • Join/listen to the SEEK daily Prayer Call
  • 15 mins of Bible reading/study daily
  • 15 mins journaling/reflection

Accelerated commitment to the journey; looking to increase spiritual strength – medium intensity.

Have you tried fasting before? Maybe you’ve even participated in SEEK but didn’t quite make it to the end; then you may be a Trekker! Participants at this level will practice 5 days a week and make the following commitments:

  • 20 mins of prayer 
  • 20 mins of Bible reading/study
  • 20 mins of journaling/reflection

Focused commitment to the journey; traditional SEEK progressive fast

Are you no stranger to fasting? Have you participated in SEEK in the past or followed the Daniel Fast for spiritual growth? Then you may be a Hiker! Participants at this level will follow a traditional progressive SEEK fast and make the following commitments:

  • 30 mins prayer 
  • 30 mins Bible reading/study
  • 30 mins journaling/reflection
